FRANKLY AMAZING Member Shout out

Inverloch’s very own Frank Bugeja has done it again! Fresh from the Australian Masters Squash Championships in Perth, Frank has claimed victory for the second year running, taking out the Men’s Open Championship (80–84 years) — after also winning the title in Canberra last year.

At 82, Frank’s energy and determination are truly inspiring. When he’s not competing, he’s busy running the Poowong Squash Club competitions on Monday and Wednesday nights, welcoming players of all skill levels to enjoy the game he loves. His team even finished runners-up in the AMSA Interstate Teams Series, proving he’s still a force on the court!

But Frank’s sporting achievements are just one part of the story. Together with his equally dedicated wife Karyn, the pair are tireless volunteers and much-loved members of the Inverloch community. They’re passionate advocates for preserving local history — especially their ongoing work to promote and protect the Amazon Shipwreck, one of Inverloch’s most treasured heritage sites.

Frank’s philosophy says it all:

“You have to keep doing what you can, while you can!”
