Inverloch's Most Awarded Cheese Is Back. Don't Wait.

Some foods tell a story. Inverloch Blue tells the story of an entire landscape.

The highly awarded seasonal cheese from Prom Country Cheese has returned to Inverloch FoodWorks, and if previous releases are anything to go by, locals and visitors will need to move quickly.

This isn't a cheese that rolls off a production line. Inverloch Blue is a small-batch, seasonal creation shaped by the rhythms of South Gippsland itself.

Made using organic certified milk from a single herd, every wheel can be traced directly back to the farm. The cheese is then wrapped in grape leaves grown on the property and soaked in wine from a local vineyard before being carefully matured.

The result is something genuinely unique. A flavour profile that reflects the land, the season and the people behind it.

You couldn't replicate Inverloch Blue anywhere else in the world.

Prom Country Cheese owners Daniel and Chelsie Hales have built a reputation for crafting cheeses with a strong sense of place. Using traditional methods, quality local milk and a commitment to small-batch production, they create cheeses that celebrate the best of Gippsland.

And the cheese world has certainly noticed.

Inverloch Blue was crowned Grand Champion Cheese at the 2025 Australian Grand Dairy Awards, awarded Super Gold and named Best Australian Cheese at the World Cheese Awards. For a cheese inspired by the landscapes of South Gippsland, it's an extraordinary achievement on both the national and international stage.

Yet despite the awards, Inverloch Blue remains wonderfully connected to its origins.

Every wheel depends on the season. Every batch reflects the conditions on the farm. The milk comes from the same herd, the vine leaves are harvested from the property and the process remains deliberately hands-on.

That's why there is only so much available each year.

For cheese lovers, it's a reminder that some of the best food experiences aren't available on demand. They arrive when nature allows and disappear when they're gone.

So if you've been curious about Inverloch Blue, now is the time.

Head into Inverloch FoodWorks, pick up a wedge and discover why one small South Gippsland cheese continues to collect some of the highest honours in the dairy world.
