Inverloch Under the Stars
There’s something truly magical about Inverloch after dark. The sea hushes, the town softens, and the sky opens wide. As part of the 2026 Inverloch Equinox Festival, one of the festival’s most loved experiences returns after selling out in 2025… Inverloch Under the Stars 🌙✨.
This unforgettable night session perfectly timed around the autumn Equinox invites visitors to step beyond the everyday and into the cosmos, guided by the passionate volunteers from Mornington Peninsula Astronomical Society and Latrobe Valley Astronomical Society. Set at Rotary Park near the bowls club and boat ramp, just north of town, the location is perfectly placed under some of South Gippsland’s most breathtaking dark skies.
Bring a blanket, rug up, and prepare to be amazed as you peer through powerful telescopes to see planets, stars and distant galaxies, all while chatting with expert astronomers who love nothing more than sharing the wonders of the universe. Whether you’re a curious beginner or a lifelong sky watcher, this experience makes the vast feel personal and the night unforgettable.
There’s also the option to deepen the experience with a short astronomy talk for just $5 when purchased with your stargazing ticket, perfect for families, couples and anyone who wants to understand what they’re seeing overhead.
With Inverloch Under the Stars returning as part of the Equinox Festival’s celebration it’s the perfect excuse to turn a weekend away into something truly celestial. Come for the festival. Stay for the stars. 🌌✨
