The Great Inverloch Pie Debate Begins... 🥧

Every town has that one thing visitors insist you have to try.

In Inverloch, the debate is delicious.

Ask ten locals what the best pie at Paul the Pieman is and chances are you'll get ten different answers. Pepper Steak. Butter Chicken. Beef Cheek & Ale. Lamb Souvlaki. Chunky Steak. Everyone has a favourite... and everyone thinks they're right.

Now there's another contender joining the conversation.

Fresh from the 2026 Baking Association of Australia Pie & Pastie competition, Paul the Pieman has once again proven why pie lovers happily travel to Inverloch, taking home Gold for the irresistible Brisket Mac & Cheese Pie, along with five Silver medals and a Bronze across an incredible range of flavours.

Not bad for a family bakery that's been delighting South Gippsland since 1994.

Paul and Robyn Woods opened their Inverloch bakery in 2002, and more than two decades later they're still baking every pie, loaf, cake and pastry fresh in-store each day alongside their passionate team of bakers and pastry chefs.

So... where do you start?

Winter is pie season after all, and it might just take a couple of visits to decide which one deserves the title of The Inverloch Essential Pie.
