Step back in time and explore the site of Australia’s first dinosaur bone discovery at Eagles Nest, near Inverloch. This guided experience takes you to the location where the famous Cape Paterson claw was discovered by geologist William Ferguson on 7 May 1903. Originally believed to be a tooth, the fossil was later identified as an Early Cretaceous theropod dinosaur claw.

During the event, participants will:

  • Visit the historic fossil discovery site

  • Learn about the geological history of the area

  • View fault lines formed by ancient earthquakes

  • See petrified trees

  • Search for fossils under expert guidance

This is a hands-on outdoor experience suitable for curious minds interested in dinosaurs, fossils, and Earth’s ancient past.
