About the experience

Learn how to find and identify Australian dinosaurs, discover the latest palaeontology research and make your own dinosaur fossil.

Hear the story of Australia’s first discovered dinosaur fossil: a 115-million-year-old meat-eating dinosaur claw found at Cape Paterson in 1903 by geologist William Ferguson.

Hands-on activities

Create a plaster replica of a dinosaur footprint, ammonite or dinosaur claw. While it dries, travel approximately one kilometre to Wallace Avenue Community Park in Inverloch to break open rocks in search of fossils—and keep any you find.

Return to the Bunurong Environment Centre after rock breaking to paint your replica, ready to take home.
