🚢 Discover the Story of the Amazon Shipwreck – this August at the Inverloch Hub! 🌊

Step back in time and uncover the incredible tale of the Amazon, Inverloch’s very own historic shipwreck. This August, visit the Inverloch Hub to explore a fascinating display of artefacts and learn about the dedicated volunteers working tirelessly to preserve and share its history.

In September 2024, the Amazon refloated after over 160 years, bringing new discoveries, untold stories, and stunning new photos of the shipwreck’s latest chapter.

In December 1863, the Amazon was caught in a fierce storm, forcing its exhausted crew to run the ship aground at Flat Rocks, Inverloch. While the ship was lost, all crew members survived. Now, thanks to local volunteers, its legacy lives on.
