Screw Creek Nature Walk
If you’re looking for a peaceful Inverloch escape surrounded by nature, Screw Creek Nature Walk is the perfect spot to slow down, breathe deeply, and take in the beauty of the coast.
Starting from the Inverloch Foreshore Caravan Park Carpark (or take a longer walk and start from the Inverloch Corner Store on Cuttris St), this much-loved local trail winds through saltmarsh, mangrove flats, and coastal bushland, offering the soothing sounds of birdsong and rustling leaves along the way. Keep an eye out for wading birds, wallabies, and the occasional koala, and take a moment to listen to the gentle trickle of the creek as it flows toward Anderson Inlet.
The walk is easy and well-marked, making it ideal for all fitness levels — whether you’re after a quiet morning stroll or a mindful nature walk.
Your reward awaits at the top of the Bluff Lookout, where sweeping views stretch across the inlet to Point Smythe and Venus Bay. Here you’ll also find the iconic “Magic Tree” — a gnarled, windswept beauty that’s become one of Inverloch’s most photographed natural landmarks. It’s a spot that perfectly captures the charm and spirit of the coast.
Bring your camera, take your time, and let Screw Creek remind you why Inverloch’s coastal trails are among the most special in Victoria. Dogs on leads are welcome along the main Screw Creek trail making it a lovely outing for you and your four-legged walking companion.
