Inverloch by Night-Stories or Stars
Stories by The Inlet or Staring at the stars
As part of the Inverloch Equinox Festival, two signature after dark experiences invite visitors to see the town in a whole new light, or perhaps, in the beautiful absence of it.
After Dark Town Tours
Friday 9:00 to 10:30pm
Saturday 9:30 to 11:00pm
When the light fades, the stories begin. The After Dark Town Tours weave through Inverloch’s streets uncovering mystery, secrets and lesser known tales that linger long after sunset. Equal parts history and intrigue, these guided walks reveal a different side of this coastal town. Lantern lit atmosphere, curious whispers of the past and a touch of theatrical storytelling make this a memorable late night adventure. Both evenings are ticketed and numbers are limited. Not suited for pets or children under 12.
Inverloch Under the Stars
Friday and Saturday 9:00 to 11:00pm
In partnership with the Mornington Peninsula Astronomical Society and the Latrobe Valley Astronomical Society, professional telescopes will be trained on Inverloch’s famously clear night skies. Planets, nebulae, star clusters and distant galaxies come into breathtaking focus under expert guidance.
For those wanting to go deeper, astronomy talks will be held at the Inverloch Bowls Club from 7:30pm prior to stargazing. Designed for a general audience and rich with imagery, the presentation journeys from our solar system neighbours to the nearest stars, across the Milky Way and outward to galaxy clusters and the furthest observable objects in the universe. Along the way, it explores the astonishing scale and vastness of space.
Both the tours and stargazing experiences are ticketed events, offering rare opportunities to explore Inverloch by night. Because sometimes the most powerful festival moments happen after dark, when the sky feels infinite and the town feels quietly magical. ✨
