Detox Your Home provides a safe and environmentally responsible way to dispose of highly toxic household chemicals that cannot be accepted at regular transfer stations.

Examples of accepted products include:

Cleaning products

• Bleach

• Spirit of salt / hydrochloric acid

• Rust removers

• Oven cleaners

• Strong acids and alkalis

Garden and pool

• Weed killers and herbicides

• Insect sprays and pesticides

• Fertilisers

• Pool chemicals, including liquid chlorine and pool salts

Garage and automotive

• Petrol, diesel and kerosene

• Old lawn mower or power‑tool fuel

• Brake fluid and transmission fluid

• Coolant and antifreeze

• Oils, lubricants, turpentine, thinners and paint strippers

Paints, chemicals and hobby materials

• Wood preservatives and finishes

• Paint strippers

• Photographic chemicals

Fire, safety and household items

• Non‑halon (red) fire extinguishers

• Rat poison and vermin control products

• Butane gas canisters

• Nail polish remover

• Hand sanitiser

Empty aerosol cans can go in your household recycling. Cooking oil is not accepted.
