Detox Your Home provides a safe and environmentally responsible way to dispose of highly toxic household chemicals that cannot be accepted at regular transfer stations.
Examples of accepted products include:
Cleaning products
Bleach
Spirit of salt / hydrochloric acid
Rust removers
Oven cleaners
Strong acids and alkalis
Garden and pool
Weed killers and herbicides
Insect sprays and pesticides
Fertilisers
Pool chemicals, including liquid chlorine and pool salts
Garage and automotive
Petrol, diesel and kerosene
Old lawn mower or power‑tool fuel
Brake fluid and transmission fluid
Coolant and antifreeze
Oils, lubricants, turpentine, thinners and paint strippers
Paints, chemicals and hobby materials
Wood preservatives and finishes
Paint strippers
Photographic chemicals
Fire, safety and household items
Non‑halon (red) fire extinguishers
Rat poison and vermin control products
Butane gas canisters
Nail polish remover
Hand sanitiser
Empty aerosol cans can go in your household recycling. Cooking oil is not accepted.
