Their new EP, Girra—meaning "fire" in the Butchulla language—celebrates their heritage and identity through powerful music and song.

Girra is a groundbreaking project that blends Birdz’s sharp, poetic lyricism in Aboriginal Creole with Fred Leone’s soaring vocals in both Butchulla and English. This collaboration follows the success of their hit single Bagi-La-m Bargan and showcases their shared commitment to cultural storytelling and social justice.

Fred Leone, one of only three Butchulla songmen, serves as a custodian of traditional songs and language, bringing deep cultural significance to this performance.
